Our company was approached by event management company Mesh, to provide event production services for the renowned cider brand Strongbow for a brand activation at the Isle of Wight festival. As a key sponsor for the Isle of Wight festival, they wanted to create a strong presence to attract new customers and reconnect with existing ones.
The scope of work included various aspects such as a stage setup, an archery range, take a bow platform, a photo moment area, a dance platform, a bar installation and customised furniture. Read on to find out exactly what we designed built and installed at this unforgettable event.
LET'S GET IT STARTED
First up, is the DJ Stage. We went all out and built an impressive stage setup measuring 6m x 2m x 5m. The stage featured a full line array sound system with epic bass subs to really get the crowd jumping. A full lighting rig with a mixture of moving wash and spotlights set the scene. And finally, the all-important arena– sized smoke machine was installed to give the lighting impact during the beautiful sun-drenched evenings.
TAKE A BOW
We designed three arched-shaped back panels made of MRMDF, which were CNC cut and painted in three different brand colours. To add an extra touch of excitement, we created circular targets with recessed RGB lighting behind them. And of course, we made sure to equip the area with bows and arrows for some thrilling archery action!
SHOW ME THE WAY
The platform measured 6.1m x 2.44m and featured a painted top surface and black scrimmed sides. To prioritise safety, we installed public-rated handrails on the front and two sides. We also added steps to the platform, complete with handrails and a soft black valance. Safety was always our top priority! The platform housed an impressive LED Strongbow sign to help light the way to the Strongbow Yard.
STRIKE A POSE
We set up a 6.1m x 2.44m platform with a painted top and black scrimmed sides. To make it picture-perfect, we covered the top surface with a fully printed lino showcasing coloured stripes. The all-important Strongbow branding was made from 36mm thick CNC cut letters and proudly sat mounted above the coloured stripes. To really make it pop, we incorporated powerful LED floods in matching colours for a stunning lighting effect. Furthermore, we added wooden painted lighting hides to keep the area tidy and ensure those Insta-worthy shots!
WE LOVE TO BOOGIE
Everyone loves a dance platform, right? We created a dance floor measuring 1.22m x 4.88m, featuring a fully printed lino surface that was perfect for grooving. To increase brand awareness, we fully branded the sides with printed solid panels and aluminium trim. It was the ultimate dance floor where people could let loose and have a great time!
PLEASE DRINK RESPONSIBLY
For the bar, we transformed a shipping container into a vibrant bar experience. After removing the old branding, we added a custom header and footer above and below the bar window. To finsh it off we also added LED lighting on the handrails, which added to the feel of the space.

GETTING EVERYTHING FROM A TO B
Logistics played a crucial role in making this event a success. Although we faced some challenges, we managed trucking operations flawlessly. Handling installation trucking, get-out trucking, and even transporting the huge archer from the set construction company Helix 3D in London to the Isle of Wight.
Every event is challenging in its own unique way. When you need something in a hurry on the Isle of Wight it can prove to be a challenge. Especially when the ferry dock is backed up with traffic awaiting to arrive at the festival. The short journey across the water became a daily challenge for our operations team back in Derby. Thankfully our amazing event trucking partners were on top form and were successful in getting all requirements to the field of the festival and back again safely.
